We got there just in time for the Lady Knox Geyser eruption. The thermal park is well laid out and gives great opportunities for pictures.

It was a lovely walk and the colours were amazing. I wasn't prepared for the smell. This is a great place to see but not for those sensitive to smells.

Not worth

Due to commercial reasons every day the geyser is started using soap. Therefore the outbreak is extremely small. What a pitty.

The earth is alive!

Very hot day. Need sun protection. Good walks around the thermal ponds etc. At some stage I could imagine they might add some more structural features (boulders, sculptures, cultural examples) to enrich the experience. Overall not bad and the big ponds were amazing. The earth is really alive!

So glad we made the decision to come here! Absolutely amazing phenomena - such striking colours. Would recommend doing all three circuits - there are some steps on the third route but the colours of the lake at the end are worth it! A must do if in Rotorua.
