A most wonderful day. You’ll be glad you chose this tour!!

The tour itself and the tour guide could not have been more wonderful. Very knowledgeable about the area, took us to all the great sights. It was very well paced for our unfortunately short shore day. We did tons that day and saw soo many beautiful sights - all very diverse. Some of our fellow travelers did not show up for the tour at the assigned time so we left without them after waiting about 40 minutes. We were about 35 minutes into our tour when the driver got a call that they had finally arrived. I felt they should have just lost out on their money for the tour. One of them was ill but I’m not sure why the other 7 or so could not have been on time. The problem is that once you accommodate this type of group they continue to expect it. they were always late back to the vehicle with no regard for our time. anyway the tour guide handled them well and made a great day for all of us. Redwood forest = amazing!!

So sorry that the behaviour of the other group [who were delayed and made late by an unwell family member] made the day less than 100% for you. We do our best to accommodate all of our guests and from memory on this day [one of the last of the season due to COVID-19 shut down] the ship was leaving quite late that day so we did have time available to push the return time out a bit, so i think we showed you all that was in the itinerary. We will certainly be more strict with late arrivals next season. But thanks for still giving us a 5 star review. Regards Ian

Thoroughly enjoyed our day with Richy as our guide! Incredibly knowledgeable and informative. The geothermal park was a highlight!

Pleased you had a great time, will let Richy know. He;s also now involved in our company delivering food from our local super market due to the COVID-19 shut down of tourism. What strange time we now live in. Regards Ian

Our Rotorua Journey

We were met just outside the port of Tauranga by Gary S who turned our to be our guide/driver. Gary gave us a good commentary as we made our way to Rotorua. We visited a war memorial along the Rotorua beach front then on to view mud pools where we also had a chance to relax our feet in warm water foot baths. We visited a kiwi fruit Orchard and tasted kiwi fruit flavoured ice cream. Throughout the trip Gary gave us snippets of information of areas we passed through. Gary made the trip enjoyable for all of us in the minibus. We would request for him if we come that way again. Last but not least, a big thank you to Gary S — sorry that we forgot to get his full surname.

It was Gary Stickler who was the guide on your trip, he will be pleased to know you enjoyed his tour, one of the last we gave this season as the COVID-19 virus brought our shore excursions to a premature end this year. Lets hope the cruise ships will come back on 2021. Regards Ian

This tour was fun and interactive, we got samples, got to see the mud pools, misty waters, foots etc. Our driver Gary (with two arms lol) was knowledgeable and fun. He even should as the silver fern and really tall trees.

Thanks for the feedback, he still has two arms as far as i know! The really tall tress were the Redwood Trees in the Redwood Forest, a great place to visit. Regards Ian

Knowledgeable Guide

, Feb 2020
This was an informative day - lots of interesting places. Our guide was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and the small group size (ten people) was perfect. The meeting point was convenient, the transportation was good and the price was far more reasonable than the tours charged by the cruise company. We particularly enjoyed the hot springs at the park and the foot bath. Would have liked maybe 5 minutes to take photos at the Government House and/or Sulphur Point but understand that sometimes places are busy and parking can be an issue, so that was no big deal really. Altogether this was an excellent "taste" of what this area of New Zealand offers
icon Response from Host , Feb 2020
Thanks for the review, yes it would be good to have longer at all locations but within the 6.5 hours the tour is usually run to then there are constraints. We do offer longer 8 hour tours but at a slightly higher cost for those clients who want a more extensive program. Regards Ian
